Lago di Como

3 Aug

Fully rested and with zest for action, we got up early the next day to make the most of our only day in sunny Italy.

After enjoying our breakfast with a breath-taking view, all guerilla army recruits teamed up to engage in different sports.

Elin, Lenny, Krissy and Linden opted for kayaking lessons in the lake… look at these fellas all bundled up in their life jackets!

And Nick shortly thought he was a dolphin.

Despite the heat, Michael and Ina booked themselves on a mountain biking tour.

Unfortunately, the guide dropped out last-minute… so the two of them embarked on the tour alone, armed with sun screen, lots of water and a map of the area. The “green route” led through many picturesque towns and had a plethora of panoramic views to offer.

As if kayaking wasn’t already enough exercise for the day, Linden also had a go at rock climbing. He was joined by Marie, Muriel and their instructor Alberto.

After all that action, it was time to kick back and relax “Como style”…

Unfortunately, Krissy left the Guerilla Army after Lake Como to continue her travels through Europe and Latin America. We’ll miss you, Krissy!

When we arrived at our hostel in Menaggio, the owner Fabio immediately sat us down for a late evening meal. After devouring 3 courses of delicious homemade Italian food, none of us could keep our eyes open any longer – one of the few times everyone went to bed early…
